Skull's Out

Naming my posts never ceases to be a challenge for me and this one is no exception. Skull's Out? Really? It's supposed to be a play on words because today was Oliver's last day of school before spring break and school is out. Get it? Hahaha. What's that old saying about a joke that needs to be explained? Oh, never mind, on to the clothes!! This is Oliver's new skull and crossbones shirt (part of my spring collection) and, as you can see by his maniac smile, he loves it!

What would an Oliver post be without his favorite super-hero pose?!

All By Herself

I let Maisie pick out her entire outfit today and it made her so happy! I love what she put together because I never would have come up with this myself. She's been really into the brown boots this week and of course a tutu is always her first choice for every occasion. This butterfly shirt is new (to her) so she was super excited to wear it and these are some of her favorite tights (I love the stripes and polka dots!). All she needed was a messy ponytail with a huge purple flower and her ensemble was complete!!

Quick Change

This is one of Maisie's old tunics that has become a cute little shirt. I love the bold print and think it looks great with her white jeans and cute (albeit kind of unzipped) boots. Maisie just loves that it has pockets!

As soon as we went inside after our photo shoot Maisie saw the owl dress I made her last night and decided that she had to put it on right away! Who am I to deny such a request? Here are the results (not too bad, actually!):

Plaidtastic!

Maisie and I were a little sad today when her favorite plaid shirt just wouldn't button over her tummy but we didn't let it get us down! Who says a shirt needs to be buttoned anyway?! Today we put it over her giraffe shirt, threw on a pair of jeans and her trusty old flower shoes and we were out the door!

Flower Child

Hi everyone! Maisie has been loving her flower shoes this week and was so excited when she found this flower skirt in her drawer this morning... she couldn't wait to have them on together and head out to the garden to play!

 

I love the look but truthfully I was just happy to have an excuse to take advantage of her mood and try a new flowery hair style!

 Today Maisie is ready to set sail in her super comfy anchor shirt. She really wanted to wear jeans so we picked a pair of skinnies with pinstripes. All she needed was a pony tail, a giant flower and her favorite shoes and we were off to sea (aka the back yard)!!

Raggedy Librarian

Yes, those are glasses my baby girl is wearing. Does she need them? No. Does she love them? Absolutely. She wanted reading glasses like Nana so badly that I finally caved and bought her a pair for $3 and had the lenses popped out. She couldn't be happier! Today she's wearing her "flower garden" top and pedal pushers... oh, and her bruise of course!!

Oops...

Maisie bonked her head this weekend and we thought we would embrace the beautiful colors that it has bestowed upon her head by coordinating her outfit with the bruise. Obviously the wind had other ideas!

Little Leprechaun

Oliver hasn't made an appearance here on Cutie Hoots and I figured there was no better day to do it than the one dedicated to the lovely Saint Patrick. There are many days when I look at Maisie's clothes and think "I would totally wear that" and today's outfit is no exception. Black and white? Check. Pop of color? Check. Fun pattern? Check. Cool sneakers? Check. A glitter dipped flower and a camera that coordinates with the whole ensemble? Check and check. She's got it all going on today and I love it!

It's So Easy Being Green

Sorry Kermit but so far this week has been a breeze! Maisie is loving all her green options and I love seeing what she puts together. Today's look is refreshingly pattern free (an oddity around here) and oh so comfy and casual. Just right for having a ball outside! Sorry, I couldn't resist... no more puns for a while, I promise!! At least Maisie seems amused.

I am over the moon for this sparkly pear shirt! I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture but it is made up entirely of sequins... it's a little girl's dream! Maisie is constantly rubbing her tummy when she wears this. Of course today we paired (be thankful I didn't use the obvious pun) it with a green corduroy skirt in honor of St. Patrick's Day (or week if you live in this house!) and her favorite high tops. Throw on your sunglasses and you're ready to dance the day away!!

 So, the kids have decided that they want to wear green for the rest of the week and who am I to argue with such a request?! I love green! I love kids! I love kids wearing green! Okay, you get it.
